What is it?
Our elite program is an invitation only group of classes for the talented and dedicated RJPA student. Students will be trained to a higher technical standard and will be exposed to industry level dance styles and instructors.
When is it?
Our program runs on Tuesday afternoons from 4:30 – 6:30 pm and Wednesday nights from 7:15 – 8:15 pm in West Pennant Hills.
What will students learn?
Students will have a 1-hour technique class, focusing on general dance skills such as pirouettes, leaps, flexibility, strength, and dance science.
In addition, they will have a weekly industry class, focusing on different dance styles such as: commercial jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, arial, acting, hip hop etc. these classes will be taught by both the regular class teacher and guest choreographers.
The elite program will also be part of an elite performance team, competing and performing at competitions and events throughout the year.

Requirements – weekly class pre-requisites
In addition to the elite program students must be attending the following weekly RJPA classes:
· Minimum 2 technical classes
· Minimum 1 variety class
Technical class options: Ballet (exams not required), jazz, contemporary
Variety class options: Tap, hip hop, acro
Commitment and expectations
Commitment:
As a member of the elite program, commitment is essential. This means dedicating yourself to your craft, the team, and the studio.
It involves attending all rehearsals and classes, showing up on time, and being fully engaged in the learning process. Commitment also means practicing consistently, both in and outside of scheduled sessions, to improve your skills and contribute to the team's overall success.
Expectations:
· Professionalism: Elite team members are expected to always maintain a high level of professionalism when in and around the studio. This includes respecting teachers, fellow dancers, and the studio's rules and policies. You should exhibit a positive attitude and be a role model for others.
· Skill Development: Continuous improvement in dance skills is a priority. You should actively work on refining your technique, learning new choreography, and mastering different dance styles. The expectation is to push your limits and strive for excellence in your dance ability.
· Teamwork: Being a part of the elite program, and by extension the elite performance team means working collaboratively with others. You are expected to support your teammates, practice synchronicity, and communicate effectively. Cooperation and trust within the team are crucial for a successful performance.
· Attendance and Punctuality: Consistent attendance and punctuality are non-negotiable. Missing practices or arriving late can disrupt the team's progress. Regular attendance is a sign of dedication and commitment to the team's goals.
· Adaptability: Be prepared to adapt to different dance styles, choreography changes, and performance venues. Flexibility is key to delivering exceptional performances and being prepared for unexpected challenges.
· Performance Excellence: The ultimate goal is to deliver outstanding dance performances. This requires precision, emotion, and stage presence. Strive for excellence in every show and embrace the opportunity to showcase your talent.
Who can join?
We have taken great care in selecting RJPA students who we believe are mentally, emotionally, and technically ready for the harder level of classes that the elite program will offer. Classes are closed to general enrolment meaning the only way to join is via invitation.
To aside in the producing of routines and competition pieces, no new students will be admitted after the commencement of the school year in 2024.
Costs
The below is in addition to any standard class prices, fees and charges required for dance at RJPA.
· $50.00 per week for all 3 hours of elite program tuition
· 2 dance costumes per year @ $70.00 each
· Performance team uniform jacket @ $80.00 - $100.00 * price TBC
