Nhu Lam
As Director of RJ Performing Arts , Miss Nhu brings a strong passion for dance, teaching, choreography and creative development to the studio. Since stepping into the Director role in 2025, she has continued to build on RJPA’s strong foundations while supporting the growth of both its students and teaching team.
Miss Nhu specialises in jazz, ballet, lyrical and contemporary dance and has completed Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examinations through the Intermediate and Advanced levels.
During her time as a student at RJPA, Miss Nhu performed as a senior team member and soloist before beginning her teaching journey in 2019 as a trainee under the guidance of former Principal, Miss Rohanna. Since then, she has continued to develop as both an educator and artist, bringing her professional experiences back into the studio and classroom.
In 2023, Miss Nhu further developed her choreographic practice through a Choreographic Practice course at Sydney Dance Company. She later continued her tertiary dance training at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts (AMPA), graduating in 2025 with an Associate Degree in Dance.
Throughout her tertiary training and professional practice, Miss Nhu has worked under and alongside a range of contemporary dance artists, including Todd Sutherland, Loredo Malcolm and Chima Olujie, among others. These experiences have expanded her understanding of contemporary dance, choreography, performance and collaborative creative practice.
Her professional work has also included a range of independent and collaborative dance projects. Miss Nhu performed in Beyond the Blackout, a dance film by Setareh Mehrdad, which was selected for international festival live screenings in Canada and the United States. She has also performed in dance works presented as part of Sydney Fringe Festival’s On the Cusp.
Miss Nhu continues to work as a contemporary dance artist, working and collaborating with artists across contemporary performance, choreography and dance film. Remaining actively involved in the professional dance industry allows her to continue developing her own artistic voice while bringing fresh knowledge, ideas and experiences into her teaching.
Miss Nhu is passionate about sharing her love of dance and encouraging students to develop confidence, creativity, strong technique and their own individual artistry. As Director, she is committed to creating a fun, supportive and inclusive studio environment where students feel encouraged to challenge themselves, explore their creativity and enjoy every stage of their dance journey.
Alongside her role as Director, Miss Nhu remains actively involved in the classroom as one of RJPA’s Elite coaches, teaching Junior through to Advanced classes and working closely with the Performance Troupes. She values the opportunity to support her students through their everyday training, performances and competitions, while helping each dancer work towards their individual goals.
